PROJECT DETAILS:
The Hikade Dental Office Building is actually two separate neo-traditional professional office buildings joined by a covered bridge. The main two story building provides dental office space for the owner, Dr. Richard Hikade, along with a floor for additional rental space. The second, one story building, provides flexible office lease space. The project is located in a newly developing neo-traditional neighborhood between a tract home development and rural farmland. The goal was to create a dental office that truly marked the corner of this neighborhood without appearing as another brand new suburban office project.
The primary stone material was chosen to give “permanence” to the building – as if the stones had been cleared from the original fields. It was also selected for its anti-clinical, rustic quality, its warm tones and interesting patterns. The stone pick up the reds and browns in the cedar siding and interior fir trim while complementing the bronze metal work and trellises.
